Florian Zumkehr’s most permanent home is probably the circus. The circus, however, is the embodiment of inconstancy. The specific circumstances change day to day and yet, somehow, everything remains the same. A life on the go in order to entertain others. A house that is always on the go without ever arriving anywhere. Florian Zumkehr uses elements from acrobatics, dance, music and theater in order to question the signficance of home. In doing so, he tells us about his life on tour in a very personal manner, where everything is constantly changing and only the circus can be found everywhere.
The performance will be followed by a roundtable discussion with Florian Zumkehr and other participants. Viewers are invited to join the discussion via Zoom. Please be aware that the talk will be held in German. Further details will also follow at https://chamaeleonberlin.com/de/shows/wilt-and-shine.

Florian Zumkehr has been a successful touring artist and acrobat for over 12 years. His aim has always been to learn new forms of performing arts, whether in street shows, classical variety acts or ensemble work. He has continued to develop his stage presence through new acrobatic disciplines, acting and musical performances as a way to complement his work as a performer. With the project WILT and shine, Florian set out to create a solo show that would incorporate genres such as music and theater alongside contemporary circus. The theme of home has been with Florian since the age of 15, when he moved from Basel to Berlin on his own to become an artist at the Staatliche Artistenschule Berlin.
